6 extra-base hits power No. 10 Oregon baseball in shutout of Ohio State

All nine Oregon starters recorded hits, including six for extra-bases, and Grayson Grinsell threw 7.0 shutout innings to take the series opener at Ohio State.

Mason Neville, Dominic Hellman, Anson Aroz and Maddox Molony each homered for the No. 10 Ducks in a 7-0 win over the Buckeyes Friday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus.

Hellman hit an RBI double in the first to get the scoring started.

Oregon (20-5, 8-2 Big Ten) played three more in the fourth via back-to-back homers from Aroz and Molony and an RBI single by Ryan Cooney.

Hellman led off the eighth with a home run and Neville hit a two-run shot in the ninth.

Ohio State (6-16, 0-7) stranded eight on base, going 1 for 11 with runners on, including 0 for 5 in scoring position.

Grinsell (4-1) allowed three hits, walked one and hit three batters and struck out five. Jason Reitz struck out two and allowed on hit in 1.0 IP and Kellan Knox struck out one in a perfect ninth.

Drew Erdmann allowed four runs on seven hits and a hit batter over 4.0 IP for OSU.

The teams continue the series at noon Saturday.
